Following the assessment of speech, language and communication abilities, your therapist will suggest treatment sessions and this constitutes speech and / or Language Therapy.
RASSW provides Speech-Language and Swallowing Therapy services at the nursing home of the patient on request. Certain objective tests may still need to be done in the clinics ( such as VFS or FEES), but therapy subsequently can be continued at the nursing home of the patient. This is particularly a preferred option when the patient is either
too frail to travel or has no support available to bring him/her on
a regular basis for treatment at the clinic.

VitalStim Therapy is the only FDA approved neuromuscular electrical stimulation therapy for treatment of swallowing disorders.
For some patients with speech-language and swallowing difficulties, travelling to the clinic for assessment and therapy is difficult due to their declined general condition or lack of support to enable frequent travel to the clinic premises. |
