    • Oro-motor therapy, desensitization techniques, strategies to calm the child before trial oral feeding
    • Vitalstim therapy-10 sessions
  • Parent training – tiny tots program to teach mother skills to facilitate speech and language development in the developing infant

  • Significant aversion to feeding and tactile stimulation
  • Occasional Coughing and choking during mealsIn-coordinated suck/swallow/breathing pattern
  • Occasional choking and wet throat noises when oral cavity flooded with feeds

After
 
  • Emerging vocal skills-she coos and plays more
  • Emerging pre-linguistic skills such as shared attention appropriate for the age, responding to name call, various sounds etc
  • Emerging interactive play with the parents and caregivers
  • Better tolerance to intra-oral stimulation
  • Gradual increase in the oral intake of feeds, semisolids
  • Weaned off the tube closer to her first birthday and discharged from therapy
